Science Arm Project

Science Arm Project

In science class we worked on a human arm. We built a model out of Toilet Paper Rolls, Balloons, Tape, Markers and a Paperclip. When we had finished building it, when you stretched it out it would contract and when you let it go in it would relax. The three biggest bones in the human arm are: the Humerus, the Ulna, and the Radius. The Humerus is the upper bone in the arm, it goes from the shoulder to the elbow. The Ulna and the Radius make up the bottom half of the arm, the elbow to the wrist. The Ulna is the inner one and the Radius is the outer bone. All together they make up most of the arm.

Hypothesis:

I thought that it would flex a little.

Procedure:

The first step was to label one of the paper towel rolls the Humerus. Then, you cut the one in half that is not labeled the humerus and roll both halves up, tape them, and label them the Radius and the Ulna. Then put a flattened paper clip and stick it through all three rolls. Next bend the ends of the paper clip to keep it in place. Next blow up two balloons and tape the sides to the roles. Then, you are done.

Conclusion:

The model arm flexed much more than I thought it would flex. Overall, Success.

Advice for August

Dear Auggie,

I am writing to you on the problem involving yourself and Jack Will. I think a good way to deal with the situation is by telling Jack that you heard him say it. That would probably make him apologize at the least. You could also try making new friends. I think you should ask Mom and Dad about it. They might do something about it.

Second Draft:

Dear Auggie,

I never thought that anyone would do this to you this early on in the school year, sure I thought it would happen but still, not this early. I feel really bad for you. Maybe you could make new friends. Sure it would take time, but one friend later on is better than no friends. You have to be strong. Just imagine it was another surgery, you have had so many. I could never have done that. You should tell mom and dad about this. This is a thing that mom and dad need to know.  Mom and dad would tell your teacher and/or principal. Remember, mom, dad and I are here with you. But we can’t be with you forever.

Digestive System

Hi, my name is Lazer and today I am going to teach you about the Digestive System. I decided to teach about the Digestive System instead of the Respiratory System or the Circulatory System because I know the digestive system the best.

The point of the Digestive system is to give energy to your body. There are 6 organs in the Digestive System. The Mouth, Esophagus, Stomach, Small Intestine, Large Intestine, and Anus. Each of them has a role and all together they give energy to the body. Without one, the rest won’t work. They need each other to function. The first stage of the Digestive system is the Mouth, and the final is the Anus.

Thank you for reading this blog post, I hope you enjoyed it, stay posted for the next blog. Bye.

Response to Dr. Kiltzman

Here is a link to the article

My opinion on mask wearing is i don’t like them because they sort of make me feel nauseous.

My main experience with mask wearing is at school, at school you have to wear a mask almost every moment. The only few times you are allowed to take them off are, recess, lunch, and snack. And at recess if you want to play with friends you have to wear a mask. But the times when I don’t have to wear a mask feels good. Sometimes it’s nice to have fresh air.

I agree with Dr. Kiltzman when he stated that masks are uncomfortable because i think they  are and it is uncomfortable to be nauseous.

I disagree with Dr. Kiltzman when he stated that: Whatever. We know we should wear them, but we know we’re all OK.”

I think we should wear masks for the safety of yourself and everyone else.

Nhl

NHL

The NHL stands for the National Hockey League, a win is worth two points, a loss is worth zero and an overtime loss is worth one. A game goes into overtime when it is tied after the third period, each period is twenty minutes. Overtime is five minutes and if nobody scored in that time it goes into shootouts. My favourite team is the St. Louis blues. Their Captain is Alex Pietrangelo. The goalie of the St. Louis Blues is Jordan Binnington. He has  made some really good saves. The top goal scorer on St. Louis is Ryan O’Reilly, he got the MVP in the playoffs last year.

Some other teams I like are: the San Jose sharks, the Nashville predators and the Arizona coyotes, three out of my four favourite teams made the playoffs in 2018-2019. If you win the first round of the playoffs you go into the division finals if you win that you go into the conference final if you win  that you go into the finals and if you win that you win the Stanley Cup. The St. Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup in 2018-2019.

The Stanley Cup has every player on the team’s name on it, the Montreal Canadiens have won 23 and that is the most ever. I think if all the Canadian Cups won were against the cups that the Americans won the Canadians would have more.

Bye I hope you liked it see you soon.

Public Speaking

Animal Rights

Intro.

I think that animals should be FREE and not be separated from their family (unless they are sick or something like that). People should NOT control Animals or kill Animals. Animals should pick what they do. To: Ms. Bennett and classmates, I chose to do my public speaking on Animal rights because I think that Animals also deserve to be HAPPY.

Some people say animals are treated fairly.

You might know how some animals are like, trapped in a space. Like in Florida people take animals from the ocean. Those people make them a small habitat and give them a bit of food and water. They say they are treating the animals fairly and being nice. But that is NOT treating them fairly; Animals should be able to Be where they want, they should be able to GO where they want, and to Do what they want.

How to treat animals fairly.

You treat Animals fairly by not putting them in cages or anything like that. There are exceptions of course; like if they are injured. You can also treat them fairly by: letting them stay in the wild unless they are injured or sick.

You should let animals be FREE.

How to let Animals; BE and GO where they want and DO what they want. Here are some examples of how to let Animals BE where they want, GO where they want, and DO  what they want; you have to let them PICK what they want to do, let them CHOOSE what they want, or you can just leave them be. They will want to be FREE, so you should definitely let them. Now for the examples; You let them DO what they want by letting them CHOOSE what to DO. You let them BE where they want by letting them PICK who to BE with. You let them GO where they want by NOT TRAPPING them. That is the difference between a happy Animal and a sad Animal. (you can probably guess which is which).

Animals you should help that are not treated fairly or endangered in some places. Some of the animals that need help are: Alligators, Rhinos, Turtles, Chickens, Cows, Mice, and Fish, and a lot more.

How to help.

Ways to help are: DO NOT trap animals, DO NOT kill animals, feed animals, and let them CHOOSE what they DO. Animals should be treated as EQUALS. And remember there are Animals out there that NEED you.

Thank you.

Persuasive Writing

Why grade 4 should be allowed on the OJCS teams.

I really want the grade fours to be allowed on the sports teams because I really like to play sports.

Point 1: We Would learn how to cooperate and be happier.

We would be way happier because we would get to play with our friends. We would also get to play sports that we like. We would have a lot of fun playing with our friends the sports that we like. It would also help us learn how to be cooperative, so we would learn how to make our friends happy. For example: If someone was sad because they had let in a lot of goals, let them go out of the net. From that you would have learned that they might not like being in the net, or maybe they just don’t like letting in goals, letting in goals might make them feel like they are not good at the sport.

Point 2: We would get more exercise.

We would run a lot more and it would be like Physical Education, except playing one sport the whole time. You might say we get a lot of gym time already. But we really don’t. 3periods a week is not a lot, even if most teachers think it is. Sure recess is like gym but there are also clubs that take away our recess, and we the clubs but it still takes away recess. And recess is only 20 minutes.

Point 3: The teachers would get more break times.

The more we had tournaments the more the teachers would get breaks. And teachers (probably) like breaks. If they don’t, they should. My class does not behave so well so it would encourage us to behave. Proof that we don’t behave is that teachers say that Kindergarten behaves better than us, and they have a bigger class. I really hope that my grade can be on teams.

Thanks.
